Tasting Details Ratings Datasheet Datasheet Bordeaux Supérieur Rouge Château Peyfaures Another beautiful vintage for the ages. Our clay soils provided a cooling effect to counterbalance the warmth of vintage, giving our wines balance and depth. We used a higher proportion of cabernet franc as well because it was able to ripen more fully than in years past, so the wines have an added level of gravelly minerality to complement the opulence of the merlot. This is certainly a wine that will be long lived. For early drinking be sure to decant, but nothing will be more rewarding than patience in the cellar. 2014 gave us an exceptionally long growing season, lending our wine a deep complexity and layers of fruit and savory earth. Vibrant acid adds a refreshing, food-friendly finish and ensures that it will stay bright for years to come. It opens with a dark reddish-purple hue and aromas of ripe cherry and brown spice. Rich and medium-bodied, this blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon & Cabernet Franc combines mouth-filling flavors of cherry and blackberry with notes of cinnamon, licorice and sweet herbs for a balanced and well-integrated taste. Linear acidity with succulent fruit flavors for a long, silky finish. Varieties: 80% Merlot, 18% Cabernet Franc, 2% Cabernet Sauvignon
Soil: Clays, Ferruginous Limestone Subsoil
Harvest: Harvest plot by plot at optimum ripeness. The grape crop is density sorted and by hand in our cellar.
Maturation: 100% in French oak barrels, one third new for 15 months
